Grandmother Blue Jay
A long time ago a Grandmother and her Grandson lived together in a traditional big house. The Grandson killed an elk that had been eating all their dried fish. The boy cooked the elk for his Grandmother and as she was eating it she began to choke on a bone. She made a Blue Jay croaking sound again and again then the Creator transformed her into the Blue Jay and she started to fly around in the big house. The Creator then turned her Grandson into a Black Bird Sparrow and ever since then you can hear the Grandmother Blue Jay croaking and choking on a bone and her Grandson Sparrow is always close by her.
